People who are eating many roots can get better sight and a tanned complexion. Both effects are the result of pro-vitamin A. The root also contains vitamins B1, B2 and C, flavonoids and essential oil.

In medicine, the root, freshly grated or juiced, mainly is used for nutritionaldisorders in infants, with a lack of vitamin A. Sometimes it is also used as a diuretic.
Eating carrot regularly, particularly for the elderly, is not such a bad idea. It works vasodilator and has a positive effect on the functioning of the heart. It also increases the production of red blood cells.

Important minerals and trace elements in the root such as calcium, folate and selenium support the immune system and give hair and nails a healthy shine.

You can drink a pint of carrot juice per day, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach or in the evening after dinner.
