Communication With Your Child
It is said that the most important component of a good relationship is communication. This is very true. Having good communication at home is very important. However, it is a different scenario when it comes to babies and infants. Communication does not come easy as they are not able to express themselves. Their best mode of communication is crying.
New moms are often confronted with a huge challenge. Whenever their new born baby cries, it is up to them to figure out the reasons for the crying. Is the baby hungry, too warm, are they feeling sleepy or unwell? Many new moms are faced with this dilemma everyday. It can be very frustrating and all new moms wish that their child could just communicate and let them know what it is that is bothering them. It is up to every mom to learn and get to know their baby and understand what each cry, whimper or sound really means. By spending enough time, consulting and constantly attending to the baby, a parent can get to better understand their child and can be able to attend to their needs more appropriately.
Parents are encouraged to pick up their child and comfort them when they cry. Some people may suggest that this is actually a process of spoiling the child. However, this is not necessarily true. By picking up a cryin child, this communicates to them that the parent, either mommy or daddy, is there for them and is ready to comfort, assist, nurture and care for them whenever they need it. A child, especially an infant, is still new to this world and needs constant reassurance that the parent will always be there to help support and care for them. This also builds confidence in the child and as they grow up, they will cry less as they have been assured of their parents unwavering love, support and care.
